I slept with my cell phone last night. :) My brother texted me every couple of hours, keeping me in the loop with baby news. At 5:19am, little William Martin was born! (Eric, there's your prime number--his birth minute.) I am such a proud auntie, frequently checking Eric's blog for more pictures of Will. In a perfect world, I would visit them in the hospital today. I would bring goodies for mom, dad, and baby. I would hold my little nephew on this, his very first day of life. But there's just too many miles between there and here.
Family Similarities
Derek and I love the name William. It's Derek's middle name. We gave it to Aaron for his middle name. Derek's dad is named William. Now our nephew completes the picture. :) Will is only one ounce smaller than Aaron at his birth, and he's just as long as Kaleb at his birth. From what I can tell from pictures, Will looks a LOT like his daddy. I loved my baby brother. He was a living, breathing, doll for me to play with. Ha ha! Now he has a baby of his own. My heart is so happy for him today.
Blessings
William means "determined guardian, protector of the kingdom, and strong-willed warrior." Martin means "warlike." I pray that as Will grows into his name, he will be one who protects and guards with determination--as a mighty warrior!
I may not have met you yet, but I love you, Will! You have 3 big boy cousins on your daddy's side, and 2 on your mommy's side of the family. You are not alone! :) Here are some verses I will pray for you as you grow.
I Corinthians 16:13
"Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be a man of courage; be strong."
Proverbs 4:23
"Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life."
Judges 6:12b
"God is with you, mighty warrior."
Welcome to the family, Will! You are "God's Will!"
