Derek's grandma gave me this amaryllis plant over Easter weekend. Since then, it's more than doubled in size, and we've enjoyed watching it bloom in all it's glory. There's even another blossom that will bloom in about 2 weeks. Braylen's convinced that if he stares at it long enough, he will see it grow. That's how fast this plant changes! I love how it brightens up our kitchen.
We caught another glimpse of God's beauty in the sunset a few nights ago. It was one of those entire-sky sunsets, starting out pink and lavender, and progressing to orange and red. It was the kind of sunset you can't keep to yourself. You just have to share it with people! So, we brought Aaron out in his jammies to see it with us. I think Braylen and Kaleb were showering and brushing their teeth.
Even with all of these pretty things around me, this week I became pretty...sick. One minute everything was fine, and the next minute it wasn't. I found out how to lose 5 pounds in 24 hours, but I don't recommend it. It will take a few days to get back on track, so today I'm enjoying a slow day at home. A little laundry, a little cleaning, and a lot of resting. :)
Aaron continues to make us laugh. This week he brought this writing paper home from school: "I do not like cats! They biat. Cats are not like dogs. Cats are meeing." Now, to all you cat people out there, please don't be offended. I really like cats...at other people's houses. A good pet brings joy to the home. We just choose to let others enjoy their cats while we enjoy our dog. :) And our very loud parakeet.
