Just Breathe

This weekend we stayed at home--all five of us! We haven't had a weekend like this in a long time. While we've enjoyed all of our fun summer weekends, it was great to hang out together at home and get lots of things done. While running errands on Saturday, we stopped at our hardware store for a hotdog lunch. Our school sponsored the event, so there were many friends there to visit with. The DeWalt race car parked in the lot was a big hit with our boys. They looked it over with Daddy for a long time! Thankfully I brought my camera so I had something to do while they oohed and ahhed over the car. :) Kaleb made a funny comment while looking at the front of the car. He saw the Ford symbol and he said, "Look, it's just like our minivan!" Derek and I laughed. To compare this car with our minivan is a riot, since those around us didn't know he was comparing the Ford symbols, not the vehicles themselves. :) At noon there was a car cutting competition between the firemens' rescue tools and several DeWalt tools. Two cars, two different methods of cutting a car in half. Thank goodness the Jaws of Life beat the DeWalt tools. If not, then our fire department would need to invest in some new tools.
Checking out number 17

2 minutes, 14 seconds to cut in half!
Tonight while putting Aaron to bed, I told him he is my blanket. Since he likes to snuggle his blanket, and I like to snuggle him, then he is my blanket! He said no. Then I told him he must be my brownie bear, since Braylen likes to snuggle his brownie bear, and I like to snuggle Aaron. He said, "No, I'm not a brownie bear, I'm a ring bear." That statement comes from his experience as a ring bearer last month! :)

I just love sweet Aaron's reply: I'm a ring bear! I love how young children try to assimilate new info into their limited understanding of the world!
