Aaron's Turn

After years of waiting, Aaron finally started preschool yesterday. From an infant carrier during Braylen's preschool year, to a sleepy 2 year old during Kaleb's preschool mornings--Aaron is now the one to walk into that room. He did great; I'm the one who had a hard time! Thankfully I held it together in front of Aaron. But to realize I am alone for the first time in 9 years of mothering...it will soon be liberating. Right now it's just lonely.

Some of Aaron's comments about preschool were, "I didn't like it much--too much sitting!" "I don't like coloring, so I played cars instead." "I'm starving!" I guess animal crackers at snack time weren't enough for him. :) Later in the day I heard more about his morning. He showed me how to make a letter "t" with sign language, and told me it meant "Tuesday." He asked me how to make an "a." He said he doesn't want to sing the song he learned because, "It's an abc's song Mommy, and the one I know is just fine." Ooooookay! We've been on board with our church's preschool since it opened in 2004, with Braylen in the first class. I've appreciated the sign language the kids learn. I think it's great for their brains. I know Aaron will have fun this year. We are blessed!
